what’s spinning: classic Cure

I first heard concert-the cure live
when I was a high school student fortunate enough to be
living/studying/traveling throughout Brasil, South America.
It is a piece of music that, to my surprise, is still one of my favorites
and frequent background music in my studio and my life.

It sounds especially nice played extremely loud on my
very old-school studio stereo.
I apologize to all the lawyers who quietly office in my building...
but that's just the way it goes.

Friday procrastination assistance

If you need a little break from your mind-numbing workday
(and don't Friday afternoons seem to never end),
then check out The New Yorker's humor page.
I especially enjoy the Cartoon Caption Contest
where you can write your own caption to a New Yorker cartoon.

I mean come on, it's not like your actually getting any work done anyway.

vintage week at Modish

If your a fan of all things vintage, swing by Modish and see indie-obsessed
Jena's collection of vintage finds.
Modish is a great site devoted to independent designers and handmade goods
and Jena has generously featured circle jewelry many times.
Not interested in the mass produced and mass marketed,
then stop by Modish and have a look.

orbs of frosted quartz

I've been obsessed with frosted quartz for years,
it is a rich stone that works well in any season and subtlety
takes on surrounding colors.

image

I purchase all of my frosted quartz from a Polish stone cutter and
I am never 100% sure what I'm going to receive when I place my order...
opening the box is always exciting.
Visit the frost collection to see more.

don’t forget Mom this Mother’s Day

Remember, the big day is May 13th
so if you'd like to order a very special gift
here are a couple of suggestions.

The nut & bolt Mother's birthstone pendant

Mom can make a modish style statement
and show off all of her kids birthstones at the same time.

The circle add a ring birthstone pendant

Mom can add a birthstone baby ring for every child.

Both work great for Grand Mothers and their grand children, as well.

Of course, you can't go wrong with jewelry
on Mother's day, so be sure to browse our catalog,
we have many wonderful rings, earrings, necklaces, pins and pendants
to choose from.

Remember, each piece of circle jewelry is handcrafted when you place your order so
please don't wait until the last minute....
Dads, I'm talking to you.

National Public Radio has an amazing Live Concert Series that I am constantly listening to while I am at my workbench. The Decembrists, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cat Power, Arcade Fire, Paul Simon, Wilco, Sleater Kinney, Sonic Youth, New Pornographers, Belle and Sabastian, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah...and on and on the list goes.

Give it a listen.

New Collections

We have added many new collections to our online selection; such as diamond, ice, faith, wedding, frost...to name a few. Visit the catalog page to see them all.

What's spinning-
Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures is perfect for this rainy Sunday.

As with many of the Joy Division albums,
Peter Saville's
cover art is as striking as the music.
