Thank you, yet again

I'm always excited to have one of our jewelry designs featured on Notcouture. In this case, our ocean-blue agate ring in polished sterling silver was chosen as number #975.
Visit the very cool Notcouture website to see all of Jean's design and fashion finds.

what’s spinning: NPR Live

image

I've been re-visiting one of my favorite online music venues after some time away and it seems I've missed much. NPR's Live Concert Series has an amazing collection of live concerts from artists as varied as Bjork, The Shins, The Black Angels, Apples in Stereo, Modest Mouse, Lily Allen, Arcade Fire, and many other circle studio faves...the list just goes on and on and on. Be sure to check out Spoon, New Pornographers and Okkervil River in the next few weeks.

hot off the workbench: P01020

It's hard to believe, but the snow will soon be falling and those winter coats will be back in your wardrobe rotation. This year make a little style statement and jazz it up with our snowflake lapel pins in frosted sterling silver. And stay tuned, I'm on a lapel-pin kick so we'll have more new pin designs coming soon.

the art of Susan Jamison

image

I have recently (and fortunately) stumbled upon the delicate work of Susan Jamison. Part medical textbook and part Audubon field guide, she describes her work as "magical realism," which is as good a description as anything I might imagine. To see her intriguing collection of illustrated natural imagery you can visit her online gallery or pick up issue 69 of New American Paintings, in which she was featured.

hot off the workbench: Earth

We've recently added a few rather large oval pendants to our collection, like this beautiful 40mm by 30mm green tree agate pendant set in a very solid sterling silver setting. Each individually patterned stone displays natural variations, so no two are exactly the same. The heavy pendants include an eighteen inch Grecian leather neck cord with sterling hook clasp. Visit the Earth collection to see them all.

custom designs

At the circle studio, we always welcome your custom design ideas. Perhaps you have a few old, unworn pieces of jewelry and you'd like to incorporate the stones into a brand new bracelet, pin, pendant, ring, earring...no problem. We can work together to create that one-of-a-kind, perfect piece. Just with your questions or design ideas and we can discuss all the options.

hot off the workbench: R01080

One of my favorite stones to work with is the strikingly-banded red and black lace agate. The white bands in each stone vary in pattern, no two stones are the same, every piece is one-of-a-kind. Check out these huge rings and the matching necklaces from our gigantic collection.

pins, pins, pins

Let's see...
With the Fall comes the cooler weather. With the cooler weather come the coats. With the coats come the lapels. And with the lapels come...you guessed it...the circle lapel pins. We've added a pin page to our online catalog, so check out our growing selection of lapel adornment like the shout in frosted sterling silver. And keep watching, I'm on a pin kick so I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Do you have an idea for a custom, personalized pin? Please with your idea.

what’s spinning: Interpol

image

I am currently having a problem shaking Interpol's latest release, Our Love To Admire. It was one of those albums that, on first listen seemed just "not bad," but after repeated listenings has enveloped me. I'm a fan of this New York City foursome's other work, so I knew I'd eventually come around, but come on, give me a break...
Of course, I also love the album art. Check out the very cool Interpol website to see more from the series of photos from New York's Natural History Museum.
