What’s Instore…circle jewelry

image

I just returned from a too-short vacation and hastily ripped into my August edition of Instore Magazine only to find our frosted quartz bangle prominently featured in the Infront section. What an exciting way to ease back into the studio. Thanks, once again, Instore for including circle jewelry in your always insightful magazine.

Have it your way

Please keep in mind, since we are a hands-on jewelry design and restoration studio we can easily customize a piece of jewelry to your liking. For instance, perhaps you see a particular circle ring shown in sterling silver, but you would prefer it in 14 karat yellow gold...no problem. Or perhaps you have your eye on one of our diamond bands, but you'd prefer a diamond alternative, say a moissanite or a synthetic diamond...again, no problem. Since we actually design, hand-craft and package our own jewelry in our own studio we are able to customize any piece to suit you. Please email us with your ideas or questions and we will provide you with an estimate.

procrastination assistance: space

image

If you need a little work diversion today, check out the amazing photography from Wandering Space. I find these images to be very inspiring, like this from the Saturn series. Watch for some planetary themed jewelry to come.

frost

Are you attempting to evade this oppressive summer heat? At least you can look cool with a bracelet, ring, necklace, pin or earrings from the chilly frost collection. I recommend these frosted quartz and sterling silver dangle earrings, an icy drink (maybe a mojito), and shade.

what’s spinning: Wilco

image

I've always been a huge fan of Wilco from their first album to their brand-new Sky Blue Sky. If you're a fan as well, then check out this interview and in-studio performance on NPR's great World Cafe with host David Dye. Give it a listen here.

hot off the workbench: R01150

Perfect for the new-to-be newlyweds (and everyone else, for that matter), check out the brand new editions to our wedding collection, like this seven diamond band in 14 karat white gold.
And do not let anyone tell you that you must purchase an engagement ring and a wedding band...incorrect, I think a beautiful band does just fine on its own.

hip science

image

I'm currently consumed by New York Public Radio's thoroughly intriguing science program, Radio Lab. I've lately spent much too much time staring blindly at the wall above my workbench listening, pondering, calculating, laughing and...oh yea, remembering that I'm supposed to be working here.
The topics are fascinating, with discussions on sleep, space, morality, and time (to name a few) and the production is very well done...not your stodgy science show to be sure. And look at that logo...it just has to be cool!

Listen to a full episode here.

repair, restore, recycle

Rather than purchasing a brand new piece of jewelry, a great way to go a little green is to restore a worn piece of jewelry that you already own. Go ahead, pull an item out of that scary little drawer filled with broken rings, twisted earrings and that sorry, tangled mess of necklaces that just keeps growing and growing. Often all it takes is a thorough clean, polish and steam and voila...that favorite piece is restored back to its original grandeur. If, however, restoration just won't suffice and you're in need of repair as such ring resizing, re-tipping of pendant or ring prongs, chain repair, stone resetting or whatever...no problem, we do it all at the circle studio.

But what if you own a piece of jewelry that is beyond repair or restoration (or carries with it a little un-wanted emotional baggage), try removing the stones and recycling them into a new piece. Perhaps the small diamonds from an unworn ring, say, would make nice earrings for your daughter, a center stone might even work in a pendant for your Mom or sister, or try resetting the diamonds from an impractically designed ring into a clean, modern band for yourself. The possibilities are endless, so if you have ideas for a piece of jewelry or perhaps you've seen an item right here on circlejewelry.com into which you'd like to incorporate your own stones, please let us know, we'd only be too happy to accommodate. Dig that jewelry out of that drawer and repair, restore or recycle; believe me...you'll love giving those forgotten jewelry pieces a new life.

If you have any questions regarding restoration, gem recycling or you'd like a current repair price-list just email
info@circlejewelry.comemail.

hot off the workbench: R01160

Ever since the circle studio's favorite design-seeker Jean from the very cool (and time-devouring) NOTCOT and NOTCOT.ORG posted our heart shaped onyx ring on her brand-spanking new site, NOTCOUTURE, I see that it has been popping-up all over the web. Thanks Jean for continuing to include circle jewelry on your ever-growing media empire.

Check out this ring and many others in our newly-expanded ring collection here.

inside the green circle

After spending time over the weekend watching the Sundance Channel's great new show Big Ideas for a Small Planet, I've become even more focussed on keeping circle as green as possible.
I have always been careful to use reusable jewelry containers and our packaging and shipping materials are mostly made of biodegradable/recycled/recyclable materials, we are also shifting from printed, paper catalogs sent through the mail to a primarily web-based business...but what else can we do?

With this in mind, over the next few months I'll be posting some new ideas, new designs, and new ways of thinking about jewelry and its many purposes.

please email info@circlejewelry.comemail with suggestions, ideas, or questions...
your input would (as always) be greatly appreciated.

new digs

I apologize for my utter lack of posting laziness...
we have been moving the circle studio to a great new location
and I've been preoccupied with the sheer joy of
packing, moving, unpacking, setting up equipment, blah, blah, blah.
Stay tuned for some photos of our new studio and salon.
